Aristrox Gold is an arcade game in the style of the classic ball-and-paddle games, which has Breakout as its main inspiration.
Gameplay in this Breakout remake is very simple; using the ball and paddle, your goal will be to knock down all the rows of golden bricks on the playing field. The pad is controlled with the mouse, and can be moved right and left to rebound the ball and prevent it from falling. For every golden brick you destroy, provided that you have chosen the arcade mode, you will receive three points that will add up to your score. Your ultimate objective is to make as many points as possible to get your name on the high score board.
Besides bricks, from time to time other elements will show up on the playing field, some of which you may want to avoid. The orange ball will give you an additional life, but the star will cause the pad to blink, producing a quite annoying effect.
The graphics in Aristrox Gold are pretty basic but colorful and well drawn, although there is only one scenario. The music and effects are good as well, and can be turned off if your prefer.
In short, Aristrox Gold is a game that is fun and challenging for a while, but the simplicity of its gameplay and graphics will not hold your interest for long.
